👋 About Me

Hi, I’m Lisa Dastous — a passionate educator, proud mom, lifelong book lover, and animal rescue enthusiast. I’ve spent more than 25 years helping elementary and middle school students grow into confident, capable learners, and I truly believe every child deserves patient, personalized support to reach their full potential.

I hold a Master’s degree in Education from Piedmont College, along with multiple teaching certifications, including Elementary Education (P–5), Middle Grades Language Arts and Social Studies, and Gifted In-Field. Throughout my career, I’ve taught a wide range of learners and served as a gifted coordinator, grade level lead, and MTSS coordinator — roles that deepened my understanding of how to support students at every stage.

When I’m not teaching or tutoring, you’ll likely find me reading, volunteering, or spending time with my family and our beloved rescue pets. I have recently started American Sign Language classes, so for me learning never ends. At ThinkUp Tutoring, I combine heart and experience to create a supportive learning environment where students feel empowered to think up, level up, and rise up.
